πŸ“–  It was a quiet morning when I found it.


The fog had rolled in early, swallowing the lighthouse in soft gray. I was cleaning Elliot’s workbench when I noticed something odd — a loose brick on the wall, faintly marked with initials: M + E.


I pulled it out, and behind it lay a folded, water-stained envelope. My hands shook as I opened it.


> “To the man who fears the sea…”




Maeve’s handwriting. The ink was faded, but her words still bled with love.


> “If you ever find this, know that I never blamed you. The sea takes what it loves — and I was never afraid of drowning, only of being forgotten.”




Elliot appeared by the door, pale and silent. His eyes met mine, and I could tell he knew.


He took the letter gently from my hand and pressed it to his chest. “She wanted me to move on,” he whispered. “But the sea won’t let me.”


The mist outside thickened. Through the window, I swore I saw a woman’s silhouette standing by the cliff — her dress fluttering like white smoke.


When I blinked, she was gone.


And for the first time, I felt Maeve’s peace — not haunting, but watching… guiding.
