π Episode 10 – When the Sea Spoke
π That night, the storm came.
The waves roared like they were alive, crashing against the cliffs with the sound of anger and grief. The light in the tower flickered — then died.
Elliot ran to fix the generator while I stayed below, clutching the old logbook Maeve had written in. Pages had been torn out, water-stained and fragile.
One slipped free, falling open to words written in trembling ink:
“If this reaches you, forgive me.
The sea took him — but not my love.
I keep the light burning, hoping he’ll find his way home.”
I felt my throat tighten. Her handwriting looked like mine.
Her pain felt like mine.
Outside, I heard the sound again — faint but clear — a woman crying against the wind. I stepped out, the rain soaking through my jacket, and looked toward the sea.
And then I saw it.
Not a ghost this time… but a shadow beneath the waves, reaching upward as though begging to breathe.
“Maeve?” I whispered.
The wind answered — not in words, but in a sound that felt alive:
“Listen… and remember.”
The beacon flickered back to life behind me, shining straight into the mist — illuminating a figure by the rocks. Elliot was there, frozen, watching the impossible.
The sea had spoken — and it wasn’t done yet.
