Janice and Jude moved back to Mindanao.

They tried to rebuild a life out of what was left — the money from the condo, the vehicles, the little they could save.

At first, things seemed fine.

But soon, the same cracks that broke us started showing in them.

Jude started drinking more, gambling, chasing illusions of success.

Janice, once proud and graceful, became quiet — a shadow of the woman I used to know.

My cousin said she was often seen at the market, selling homemade food to cover debts.

Some nights, I’d imagine her looking up at the same moon I saw from the ship — maybe wondering where it all went wrong.

Regret has no sound, no form, no ending.
