The Stories of Us Present EP2 – A Silent Promise
After that day they called me trash, after her words cut deeper than the laughter of everyone else, I made a promise no one could hear.
Every tear of my mother, every hunger-filled night, every cruel whisper — they became fuel. I clenched my fists, and in silence I swore: One day, I will rise.
I never told her. She never knew. But deep inside me, even as a boy with nothing, I had already chosen the path. Not of revenge, but of becoming more than what they saw.
And so I studied harder, dreamed bigger.
Even as poverty chained me, I sharpened my will like a hidden blade.
It was my secret promise.
My silent vow.
That I would never again be the boy without slippers.
